A six month, six module course for teachers, teachers in training, and dedicated students.
We will utilize experiential, tactile, and academic methods to deepen our understanding of the yoga body. We will use interactive anatomy to shed light on the unknown territory within. By parsing the living being into parts and systems, we enhance our understanding of alignment and function. Learning to digest the applied knowledge of anatomy will lead us naturally to Body Reading. Body reading is essential to accurate assessment of alignment and misalignment. We will have the opportunity to hone this tool through patterned asana. With a clear understanding of internal landscape and the ability to see alignment, we can deepen the yoga we offer our students and ourselves.

Introduction to Conscious Embodiment Weekend
-
Thu12Nov2015Sun15Nov20159:30am-5:30pmLondon, England
Anatomical Relationships & The Breath
When we understand the geometry of the human body, our understanding our alignment transforms our clients ability to access the form. This workshop will distill the anatomy surrounding the breath and its role in structural & functional balance within the body. You will gain working tools to assess the clients needs around the breath and the supporting structures. You will also gain breathing practices that will give us and our clients unique access into the diaphragm, rib basket, pelvic floor, spine and individual lobes of the lungs.
Body Reading: The Breath & Fascial Change
Postural assessment of our clients breathing is essential in understanding the alignment of several key structures: the pelvis, rib basket and spine. In this workshop, you will be introduced to the skill of body reading, develop language to communicate and understand alignment and learn to assess the alignment of those key structures. We will explore fascial change in the region and focus on a number of pilates exercises to integrate the work and put it into practice.

Using simple terminology: bend, shift, tilt and rotate, we will uncover the hidden relationships of the body. By seeing posture and patterns in the body, we set the stage toward bringing the body into alignment. This will afford us an intelligent strategy to relieving pain and discomfort.
Anatomical Relationships of the Pelvis
When we understand the geometry of the human body, our understanding our alignment transforms our clients ability to access the form. This workshop will distill the anatomy surrounding the pelvis and its role in structural & functional balance within the body. You will gain working tools to assess & support the clients needs around the pelvis and the surrounding structures.
Body Reading: The Pelvis
The pelvis is the foundation for the axial skeleton and movement. Understanding the clients' pelvic alignment will set us well on our way to balancing their bodies. In this workshop, we will apply the fundamentals of body reading to the pelvis in order to reveal the state of relationships in the area.
Fascia Change: The Pelvis
How do we facilitate effective change in our clients? Offering the client access to the function and strength of a muscle is paramount to the Pilates foundation. (No CEs for Individual Classes)This Structural Integration Series will create the opportunity for students to see the body from a relationship-based perspective. Students will explore the anatomy holistically, assess how it is organized, and make choices about how to reorganize clients’ fascia. The overall goal is to help clients create better alignment and reduce pain and discomfort.
In Postural Assessment we will explore Tom Myers’ assessment tool: Body Reading. Using simple terminology–bend, shift, tilt and rotate–we will uncover the hidden relationships of the body. By seeing postural patterns, we set the stage for bringing the body into alignment. This will give therapists tools for developing a strategy for relieving pain and discomfort.
What to Bring: There will be no need for linens. Students should wear as little clothing as they feel comfortable wearing. Ideal would be yoga shorts and a swim top or sports bra for women. This will give us the ability to read each other’s structure by seeing as much of the bone structure as possible. If you need to wear more clothing to feel comfortable, then that is fine as well.

Conscious Embodiment: Techniques to Release the Superficial Fascia(Thursday)
In this workshop, you will learn a series of techniques and tools for contacting and releasing the superficial fascia from the deep muscular fascia. Imagine a wetsuit of connective tissue surrounding your entire body like a Russian nesting doll. If that layer is dehydrated and stuck down to the muscles and joints underneath it, then we lose the ability to access ROM in joints. Spend a few hours exploring how to contact and release this layer. The results will be remarkable.

Redefining Stretch: Integrative Movement
Day 1
When we think about Range of Motion, which aspects of the anatomy come to mind? - Muscle length, Boney end range and Joint space. What is equally important and much less obvious is the role of skin, superficial fascia and fat when we speak of RoM. Imagine practicing yoga or pilates in a skin tight leather suit. The affect is obvious. Access muscular and articular range of motion suffers. The restriction of the superficial layers prevent us from freely accessing our full potential.
Join me on day 1 of a 2 day workshop where we will release the adhesion of the superficial fascia and skin from the deep muscular layers. We will systematically differentiate the superficial body from toe to scalp freeing the bag from the muscles and bones. The release will be significant and complete.
Day 2
Years of studying the properties of anatomy, fascia and movement have unlocked doors to fundamental properties of change in the muscular skeletal body. After spending a day separating the superficial body from the deep body, we will be left to contend with the relationships that live between our muscles and bones. During day 2, we will explore integrative movement to differentiate the inter-muscular and intra-muscular adhesion around the pelvis, spine and shoulder girdle.
Graciously hosted by Body Control Pilates

In yoga, we use the shoulder girdle for a myriad of tasks. Sometimes the shoulder girdle is used for balancing, other times as a foundation and also as an expression of intention. As a structure, it provides the foundation that allows us to manipulate the world with our hands and arms. The shoulder girdle commonly holds tension and stress. In this workshop we will explore:
- How the Shoulder Girdle relates to the torso and arm
- How we can access change to the surrounding soft tissues
- How balance and space can support us in alleviating stress from the region
- How the shoulders can affect the neck
- How to effectively use the shoulders in yoga
- Changing the region by feeling and effectively moving the fascia

Fascia has become a buzz word in the world of yoga in last decade. What does it really mean for our practices, for our body? How is it organised? And how can I utilise this information in my teaching and practice?
In this workshop we will explore fascia:
– How it is organised into different layers
– How those layers relate to each other
– What this means for our practice and our teachings
– Skeletal, Muscular, Visceral and Superficial Fascia BodyCost: £30
-
Sat11Nov20172 - 4 PMtriyoga shoreditch (London, United Kingdom)
Our concept of stretching involves taking a myofascial unit to its extreme length and then asking it to adapt and change, to become even longer. The initial response is often one of resistance. By refining first resistance, we are able to address the myofascial unit with ease and effectiveness. Come explore how feeling and acknowledging the actual state of a myofascial unit concludes in redefining the concept of stretch.

Integrative change can only occur at the pace that we can digest it. Sudden or massive changes are difficult to integrate. When we use patience and precision, small incremental changes to the myofascial system will accumulate. In this way, we can maintain and own the changes we initiate. In this class, we will discuss and explore:
– The properties of fascia
– The truths and fallacies of stretching
– Understanding the concept of first resistance
– Learn how to slow down and feel the state of our tissues
– Redefine stretch
– How to accumulate changes to the body
– Movement practices for successful and lasting changeCost: £30

Sat13Jan2018 12:45 - 2:45 PMKula Yoga Project (Williamsburg, Brooklyn)
The spine is the often regarded in its parts. We identify with what is happening in the neck, the middle or the lower back. We describe pain and discomfort in relationship to these specific locations. Our approach to healing and gaining support is identified to the same thought process. The lens of reducing the body into individual parts has blinded us to the simple fact that our bodies are all contained in one bag. And that bag is filled with structures that are intimately related to each other.
In this workshop we will explore the spine in the context of relationships:
- How is the spine organized?
- How does the spine behave like a system?
- How do we use movement to change the fabrics and materials that make up the spine?
- How does fascia fit into this story?
- How do we listen to our bodies needs?
- How can we successfully interpret what our body is telling us?
The workshop will blend a short lecture with movement practices geared to discover and make change to the spine. We look forward to spending the after noon with you.

Take a deep dive into recognizing the successes, principles and application of fascial movement in this 4-day workshop.
When we approach a yoga class, we bring our bodies and the stories we have accumulated during this life. We carry injuries, both physical and emotional. They have changed the postural and structural alignments that exist between the bones, muscles, fascia, nerves and organs.
In class we ask students to move our body according to predetermined sequences and adhere to shapes according to poses. How does an individuals particular somatic history fit a predetermined design? Are our students particular needs getting addressed as we guide them through these movements and poses? Do their personal histories prevent them from accessing our offering?
How can we guide students to recognize, feel and change their specific relationships? Can we develop a language and understanding around what they bring and what they need?
In this 4 day course, teachers will come away with these tools:
- Seeing successes in their students bodies
- Recognizing structural patterns that are not serving your students
- Translating bone alignment to soft tissue needs
- Language and techniques to make change to soft tissues
- Practical application of fascial movement in classroom setting
Cost: $595 (before 12/15) | $725 thereafter

Sat17Mar20186 - 8 PMtriyoga Camden, 57 Jamestown Rd, Camden Town, London NW1 7DB, UK
In recent years, we have been witnessing the rise of the divine feminine back into the divine marriage. For centuries, the feminine has been repressed within us all, male and female alike. The feminine represents our ability to feel, hold compassion, listening, create and much more. The masculine represents our ability to reason, analyze, understand and much more. The current internal and external atmosphere of our world has promoted the masculine in us while we have been left to our own devices to discover and manifest our feminine.
In this workshop, we will use the subject of fascia and movement to develop a practice to support the divine marriage of the sacred masculine and sacred feminine inside of our bodies.
We will learn how to:
- Know where and how fascia lives in the human form
- Awaken unknown, disassociated territory in the body
- Recognize patterns of unconscious holding
- Understand how unconscious holding effects the fascial system
- Contact the sensations of fascia in our body in real time
- Feel the fascia boundaries that prevent us from moving
- Experience and embody the elation of the divine marriage
Join me as we explore Fascia through a physical and symbolic journey.

Thu21Jun2018Sun24Jun20189 AM - 5 PM dailyCenter for Remembering & Sharing, 123 4th Ave #2, New York, NY 10003
A 4 day workshop for yoga, pilates, and movement teachers.
When we approach a yoga class, we bring our bodies and the stories we have accumulated during this life. We carry injuries, both physical and emotional. They have changed the postural and structural alignments that exist between the bones, muscles, fascia, nerves and organs.
In class we ask students to move their body according to predetermined sequences and adhere to shapes according to poses. How do the patterns that live in a particular body fit into shapes of those poses? How does an individuals particular somatic history fit a predetermined design? Are our students particular needs getting addressed as we guide them through these movements and poses? Do their personal histories prevent them from accessing our offering?
How can we guide students to recognize, feel and change their specific relationships? Can we develop a language and understanding around what they bring and what they need? Are we interested in fixing what is wrong with them? Or are we interested in recognizing what is already successful in a persons structure and build upon that which is already understood. These are a few of the difficult questions that we will explore in this training.
In this 4 day course teachers will come away with the following tools:
- Seeing successes in their students bodies
- Recognizing structural patterns that are not serving your students
- Translating bone alignment to soft tissue needs
- Language and techniques to make change to soft tissues
- Strategies and techniques for growing internal awareness
- Practical application of fascial movement in classroom setting
Cost: $595 before May 16th / $750 thereafter
Please note, attendance will be by application only as space is limited in order to preserve the intentionally intimate nature of this training.

Sun11Nov20189:30 AM - 5 PMTriYoga Camden, 57 jamestown road, london, nw1 7dbIn recent years, fascia has become a mainstay within the vocabulary and foundation of many healing practices. How do we harness our understanding of what fascia is and what it does in our body? How do we translate the content and the anatomy into a usable tool within our yoga teachings and practices? What would it look like if we were to marry these new maps of fascia to the ancient teachings of yoga?In this workshop, we will explore the relationships between the fascia, how it lives in our central channel and how it supports the Chakra system. We will define the fascia anatomy of the structural body, the nervous system and chakras. By understanding how the physical, mental and subtle bodies live within our human form, we can unlock access to our full human potential.Together we will learn:
• How Fascia is organised within the visceral body?
• How the Nervous System interacts with the visceral fascia?
• What is the significance of this interaction?
• Breathing and movement techniques specially designed to free the fascia of the visceral body.
• How the Vegas nerve and the Chakra system are aligned?
• How the organ body and the Chakras are aligned?
• How differentiating the fascia system of the visceral body as a practice will aid us in accessing the vegas nerve and the Chakras system?
• Basic Understanding of the Chakra system and how to access it for our own healing. This workshop is the culmination of 20 years of practice and study. I am excited to offer it to you for the first time through triyoga. I look forward to seeing you all there.* * * If booking for more than one person, please do so by calling 020 7483 3344.
