Structural bodywork is a blend of manual therapy techniques that I have combined with years of study. One of the more influential studies has been Ida Rolf’s Structural Integration practice delivered through the lens of Thomas Myers KMI teaching. Structural integration works by differentiating the various fabrics in the body and re-educating the body to find healthier patterns. We work to separate the skin, muscle, fascia, bones, blood vessels and nerves so that they can all exist freely and function optimally.
The KMI Structural Integration Series is a 12 session program that follows a protocol in order to differentiate the body’s structures and reintegrate them. The client will have healthier relationships within their body and a clear idea as to how to use their body going forward. As well as offering the 12 session program, I work in an ongoing manner with clients who are interested in the continuity of a weekly session.
In addition to structural integration technique, I have combined my studies of Chua K’a, Shiatsu, Anusara & Flow yoga to offer a dynamic healing atmosphere. Chua K’a and Shiatsu help me to locate areas in the body where fear and stress have accumulated with the intention of clearing them from the system. My studies of yoga and movement help to access hidden pathways of tension that are concealed in our static posture. Once identified, we can welcome action and flexibility into areas of disconnection and hypo-mobility.
In my practice, we focus on pain management, alignment, movement, breath and body awareness. We take into account past traumas, current and past usage patterns as well as postural assessment in order to tailor a treatment program that meets your specific needs. I am committed to remaining open to your needs and adjusting the direction of treatment in order to unlock the innate healing processes of your body.
The process of structural bodywork will lead you, the client, to unlocking the natural healing and movement potential of your body. It will lead to healthy fluid flow, more energy on a daily basis and the potential to reclaim unconscious parts of your self. You will gain a kinesthetic intelligence that will dynamically change the relationship you have with your body. This process is designed to offer you a conscious path back into your routine so that you can integrate the bodywork into your daily habits. Preparing your body for the future is a worthy investment and one that will benefit you for your lifetime.
